Sir Thomas Hungerford began the fortified mansion now called Farleigh Hungerford Castle in the 1370s. His son Walter extended it in the 15th century. Visitors can see two tall corner towers, a complete castle chapel with impressive family monuments and wall paintings, and a crypt with many Hungerford lead coffins. The site offers an audio tour, extensive displays in the Priests' House, and family activities such as book boxes for kids.
