Hospital & appointments
A free communication tool for autistic people who might need hospital treatment, developed by Baroness Angela Browning with The National Autistic Society and endorsed by the Department of Health and NHS England.
The passport is designed to help autistic people communicate their needs to doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. It covers preferences, triggers, communication style and anything else that helps staff support the person in front of them.
It is one of the projects referenced in the adult autism strategy, Think Autism, and has been independently reviewed and updated based on feedback from autistic people and professionals.
The original documents are hosted on The National Autistic Society website. We have linked directly to the official page so you always get the latest version.
